Birthday Memes — Funny Happy Birthday Memes to Share

13 funny birthday memes about candles, getting older and last-minute wishes. Send one to the birthday person, or make your own birthday meme with AI.

A funny birthday meme says "I remembered" better than a plain "HBD": the candles that set off the smoke alarm, the wish sent at 11:58 p.m., and the friend who said "no gifts" and meant it. These birthday memes are made to be sent.

Every meme below uses a classic template, from One Does Not Simply to Expanding Brain. Tap any meme to open its template and personalize it, or describe the birthday person and let Memegician's AI write 12 birthday memes for you.

Tips for birthday memes that land

  • Personal beats generic: add their name, their age or an inside joke.
  • Tease gently; the birthday person should laugh, not wince.
  • Pair the meme with a real "happy birthday" so it reads as a wish, not just a joke.
